Twixt failure and success the point’s so fine
Men sometimes know not when they touch the line,
Just when the pearl was waiting one more plunge,
How many a struggler has thrown up the sponge!
Then take this honey from the bitterest cup:
There is no failure save in giving up!

Thank you so much for these words (quote)many a strugler has thrown up the sponge! I have been in this position many times but now understanding there is no failure other than giving up, I can now complete my retirement wishes and get on with life.

Great poem, reminds us that success is to keep on trying, and not to give up. There are many failure quotes that also send the same message. One of our favorits was said by Brian Tracy, "Most people achieved their greatest success one step beyond what looked like their greatest failure."
